Questions and instructions
First, please tell me the name of each person who usually lives here, starting with the head of the household.
List the head of the household in line 01. Then ask if there are any others who live here, even if they are not at home now? (Therse may include children in school or at work). If yes, complete listing.

Line number of household members (usual residents):
This is the number used to identify each person listed. You must obtain a complete list of all persons who usually live in the household, but you do not need to fill in or do anything in this column since the numbers are already provided. This is a very important number, since once household members are assigned these line numbers as the household listing is being completed, they are identified with these line numbers throughout the questionnaires administered in this household.
Note that if there are more than 15 household members, you will need to use an extra continuation sheet to record the additional household members. Please remember to change the line numbers of household members on the continuation sheet, to read 16, 17, 18, etc, and to tick the box provided at the top of the Household Listing indicating that a continuation sheet has been used.
The household listing will be completed in two stages: First, names (HL2), relationship codes (HL3) and sex (HL4) of all household members are recorded until all household members are included in the list. When the respondent is asked to provide the names of persons living in the household, their relationship to the head of the household and their sex is naturally mentioned during the course of listing the names. For this reason, the list is completed vertically for HL2, HL3 and HL4 during the first stage. Then, questions from HL5 to HL12 are asked for each person before moving to the next person.
